Our Customers
Omnivision, a top designer of CMOS
image sensors, needed
ultra-high-performance servers to
take full advantage of the latest
EDA software. When they weren’t
getting what they needed from the
industries big-name providers, they
turned to Intellistore. Based on
Omnivision’s precise requirements,
we specified a solution employing
Quatrio's premium-component,
no-frills systems. We used the
fastest CPUs and Ultra320 SCSI disks
to maximize speed. These were the
results:
-
Saved money by employing
standard graphics and modest
memory.
-
Cost half the price of the
equivalent brand name system.
-
Performed simulation in half the
time required by that system.
-
Quatrio benchmark test proved a
4X performance advantage.
-
Omnivision has since purchased over
50 Quatrio workstations from us.

Ten days. That's how long it was taking Magnum
Semiconductor to perform a full backup. So they
decided to give Intellestore a call. We reviewed all
of their options and then devised a Virtual Tape
Library solution based on Quatrio’s new Pivot 300
back-up-to-disk system and equipped with Diligent
Technology’s elegant ProtecTIER™ Enterprise inline
de-duplication and data protection software. The
installation was deployed as the storage backend for
Symantec's NetBackup to protect Magnum's
heterogeneous data environment. We tested the
system thoroughly in our own labs, and then
completed the installation at Magnum in just 2 days.
Here were the results:
-
Addressed Magnum’s current
20TB/week backup needs.
-
Saved 50% over tape-based
alternative.
-
Achieved an initial
backup/de-duplication data ratio of 16:1.
-
Cut backup window by 80%.
-
Could scale to meet
significant data storage growth.
-
Space, power, and cooling
needs were dramatically reduced.
When asked about the solution, IT
director John Wunder smiles. "It's a beautiful
package.”
